IC Information:
Name: Nowi/Nora Drake
Canon and medium: Fire Emblem:Awakening (video game)
Age: Nowi is over a thousand years old, Nora is only twelve
Preincarnation Species: Manakete (Essentially a dragon. The terms are in fact used interchangeably during the game.)
Preincarnation Appearance: Concept art!
Any differences: Nora has normal human ears and her hair is a plain blonde, lacking the greenish tint.
Preincarnated History:
Very little is known about Nowi's history in canon. We find out from her supports that she was born in a far off land, and that she never really knew her parents because she was kidnapped when she was very small. Much of her childhood was spent alone. At some point, she fell into the hands of human slavers and was sold off several times. She was made to perform tricks in her dragon form as entertainment until finally she was sold to the Grimleal, a cult that worships an evil dragon. They intended to use her as a sacrifice, an offering to their dark god. But one of the mercenaries they hired decided to turn on them and rescue her.
In their haste to escape, they stumbled upon Chrom's army. They join up, and Nowi was finally able to live freely and make friends and do everything she ever wanted. And through time travel shenanigans, she even got to meet her future daughter, Nah. (I'm leaving the identity of Nowi's husband vague, in case of future apps.) She fought bravely alongside Chrom's army and together they vanquished the fell dragon.
But you can read about all of that in more depth here.
Reincarnated History:
Nora doesn't remember her parents and knows very little about them. She's been told that they died in a car accident when she was two years old, and ever since then she's been shuffled between various foster homes. Nora was mostly a good kid, if a little moody and bratty. Her grades were always poor, pulling a combination Cs and Ds, which always caused friction between her and her teachers. It was only compounded by the fact that she showed no inclination to improve those grades. Passing was enough for her.
She was very active in clubs and extracurricular activities, but tended to join a different thing every year. In fourth grade it was choir, in fifth grade it was softball, in sixth it was drama club and so forth. Lately she's been thinking of learning to cook or sew.
It was halfway through the seventh grade that her life suddenly changed. A relative had surfaced who was willing to take her in. Her grandfather. And Nora finally found out some more about her parents. Her parents' marriage had been opposed by both families, so they had eloped. Having been estranged from their families, her parents' relatives had never even known that Nora existed.
She moved into her grandfather's home in Locke city at the end of January. Nora is excited about actually having a relative, but is still uncertain about how to relate to him. She recently transferred into the local middle school to finish out the seventh grade.
First Echo:
Her first echo came about a week ago. She misplaced her phone while at school and one of her teachers agreed to help her look for it. They searched for a long time, and Nora became visibly upset. She really didn't want to have explain to her grandfather that she'd already lost the brand new phone that he'd just given her. The teacher assured her they'd keep looking until they found it.
This triggered a strange moment of deja vu, as Robin had said something similar to Nowi when searching for a lost dragonstone. And that's just what she found. A dragonstone, sitting next to her phone which she'd forgotten on a bookshelf. Not that Nora knows what it is or how to use it. (And she hasn't got the ability to use it anyway) But the second she picked it up, a string of strange numbers popped into her head.
Preincarnation Personality:
Despite being over a thousand years old, Nowi is very childish. She spends most of her time playing games like hide and seek or trying to give dragon rides to children in nearby villages. When she doesn't get her way she pouts and whines. And it usually works. She manages to convince Ricken to lie to Chrom so she doesn't get into trouble, and even gets Lon Qu to play house with her. Unfortunately, she has a bit of a problem remembering her own strength. Her favorite game, 'duck duck dragon' very nearly kills Virion. And she'll use her dragon fire for things like cooking, even though all that does is char the food. In her first sparring match with Cherche, Nowi sends her flying with a strike from her tail. And if something bores her, she's not shy about telling you. She tells Nah flat out that studying looks like 'the opposite of fun.' She also asserts with complete confidence that playing is her job in Chrom's army.
But despite being slightly bratty, she's also really kind and considerate. She finds an injured bird and insists they use an expensive healing staff to help it. She uses her own scales to make armor for Gregor, so he'll be better protected on the battlefield. And when she's playing games with Cherche she tries to come up with games that would allow Cherche's wyvern, Minerva, to join in. When she learns that Libra is having trouble making friends, she very helpfully drags him around to each person in the army until he's met everyone. Kellam's loneliness even inspires her to try to be his big sister.
Although Nowi clearly enjoys being a dragon, there are some drawbacks. She's acutely aware of the differences in their lifespans. While she's already over a thousand, most of her friends aren't likely to live past a century. There is nothing Nowi fears more than loneliness, something that is a recurring theme in many of her supports. She even admits having nightmares about it. As such, she gets pretty attached to her friends. Her behavior often borders on clingy, following people around and pestering them for attention. Even the little bird that she nursed back to health is important to her. When it leaves to rejoin it's flock, she cries because she'll miss it so much. And in her solo ending, she tries to live away from humans but winds up missing them and coming back.
But as childish and clingy as she is, Nowi can also be very wise. She's able to recognize that Nah is too young and inexperienced to use dragonstones very often, and even helps her to find other ways to train. And she's very willing to learn new things herself. She happily takes hunting tips and cooking lessons from Robin. And even after being used and abused by human slavers for years, Nowi is still able to trust humans as a whole. She doesn't hold any grudges and doesn't judge her new friends for what other members of their race had done. When Tiki approaches her about the trouble with having so many friends with such short life spans, Nowi is able to give her a new perspective on it. Tiki mentions the belief that people who have died become stars in the heavens, so stargazing always makes her sad. But Nowi tells her that it should make her happy, because it means she gets to see all of those friends every single night. So it's like they never really left.
Any differences:
-Nora is human and thus doesn't need to worry about all her friends having shorter lifespans. She also didn't have as lonely a childhood. Because of this, Nora is less clingy than Nowi, and doesn't have the same fear of loneliness.
-She's also not over a thousand years old, so she lacks the ageless wisdom that Nowi occasionally displays.
-And being a modern twelve year old girl, Nora's interests are actually slightly more mature. Instead of 'house,' hide and seek,' and other childish games, Nora's free time is filled with movies, video games, and various school club activities.
Abilities:
She's a manakete, also known as a dragon. Besides a greatly increased life span and better stamina than her human friends, what this means is that she can turn into a dragon. Wings, scales, fire breath, etc. To facilitate this transformation, small objects called dragonstones are used.
She also has some talent in casting spells from tomes, and fighting on flying mounts. (These are the two options the player gets for reclassing her.)

Third Person:
Nora tilted her head and frowned as she looked up at the various club fliers hanging on the bulletin board. One of the really fun things about starting in a new school is the chance to maybe find a club or activity that they didn't have in your last one. But these all looked like pretty standard fare. Field hockey, chess club, orchestra..... nothing new. Her gaze lingered briefly on a flier for a club that was trying to save the oceans, or the beaches, or maybe just the whales. Either way, the mascot was cute. But... nah. Not for her.
"There must be something good here..."
But then one caught her eye. Mostly because she didn't actually know what it was. Orienteering? There definitely hadn't been a club for that at her last school. The only clue the flier offered was some clip art of a compass and some trees. Which meant that she'd just have to find out after she joined. She grinned and took note of the room number.
"Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!"
